Burn, burn, burn, baby burn

*Amazon link for BURN*

Just wanted to give you the heads up that I pressed the publish button over at Amazon. So whenever Amazon can upload the file, BURN will be available for purchase. My guess is sometime in the afternoon, although Amazon can take up to a couple days when they're busy.

And just FYI, BURN is the longest book in the Celestra series thus far, by over 12 thousand words. I blame most of that on Chloe. Also, Skyla seems to be a magnet for danger in this book. If she were a RL friend, I think I would tend to stay away. So, if you're going to be picking up BURN, buckle up your seat belts because it's going to be a bumpy ride!

~Happy reading!

*the Nook version can take up to four or five days to load

I had felt bad when I was explaining the Celestra series to yet another friend and referred to it as "literary crack-cocaine". But seeing the reactions and pleadings of my fellow blog followers makes me think I was actually right, and we are all going through some serious withdrawal lol. We've reread all the books so there's nothing left to do but wait :(

I also take the fact that I literally experienced a mild earthquake in my city while typing this as some sort of sign that Book 4 will be awesome lol :)

Also, are we going to meet Brody in Book 4 or at some point during the series? I've been wondering about him ever since Chloe's revelations in her diary lol

Addison Moore said...

Kayleigh- lol! I love that! And trust me- I am SOO looking forward to launching book4. I just finished everything I had to do before sending it to my editor. I think I'll start book 5 while she tinkers with it. ;)

Addison Moore said...

Amber J.- I love that you think of Celestra as literary crack! That is so funny and awesome! I'm honored that you enjoy my books enough to tell your friends. I truly hope book 4 satisfies your addiction. In all honesty I'm addicted to writing them.

Brody has a super small role in this next book, but we do meet Chloe's parents. But the overall plot progresses.

And I hope all is well after that earthquake! I'm with you on hoping it was a sign that book4 will be seismic. I look foreword to your thoughts once you read it. Have a good one!

I just wanted to say that your books are awesome. I devoured all 3 of them in one weekend. I can't wait to read the next one. I hope you are having as much fun writing them as I have had reading them!

Hi Jennifer! I am totally having a blast! In fact I'm doing a read through of book 4 before I send it to my editor tomorrow and I'm probably enjoying it a little too much. ;) Thank you so much for reading my books. I hope you enjoy book 4, too. Stop by often, I like the company!

Krista B. said...

Just popped in to see what the latest was on book 4 and was excited to see you say that you are doing a read-through before sending it to the editor!! Woo hoo! Our little book club at work is waiting anxiously for book 4!! I bought my sister-in-law a Kindle as a thank you gift for watching our girls for so many years and I downloaded the Celestra series for her - because I want her to be obsessed with me! :)

Logan Rutherford said...

I just gotta say, I love your books! I'm a 16-year-old guy, and I absoutly love the Celestra series! I finished book 3 yesterday, and when I first read the end, I was thinking, "Hahaha! Good one! Now, where's the real ending?" Then, I realized that was the end, and I was like, "Oh my gosh! Did that just happen? WOW!" It was amazing! Can't wait for book 4!

-Logan

P.S. I'm rooting for Logan, since we have the same name! Although, after the end of BURN, I don't who to root for!

Bckygnzlz said...

I think I figured out the whole skyla count fmily drama!! If I'm right its right there in chptr 23 of ethereal!

Addison Moore said...

Krista B. - wow a book club? That's awesome! I'm sending book 4 off to the editor today, so hopefully another few weeks and I'll put it up online. I can't thank you enough for reading my books and downloading them for your sister! That's so wonderful- thank you again!

Addison Moore said...

Logan Rutherford - You don't know how much it just thrilled me to write your name, lol! I think it's so awesome that you're enjoying the books, thank you for reading! Book 4 starts where BURN left off, so the party continues. ;) and I'm glad to see you're rooting for Logan. It's nice to see him get some support. Have a good one and stop by again!

Addison Moore said...

Bckygnzlz - hi! There is foreshadowing in all three books of events to come. I don't quit remember what's in that particular chapter, but I hope you have fun looking for clues! Stop in again and let me know what you think! :)

Logan Rutherford said...

Oh, I get it! '...so the party continues. ;)' BURN ended at Skyla's birthday party, so in book 4, the party literally continues! Maybe I'm just overthinking it...

James R. Nobohn said...

I tried to stop myself lol--I really did--but after reading Bckygnzlz comment, I had to reread Ch. 23.

I'm not exactly sure what she's alluding to, but I did notice Ellis tells Skyla "You're going to see Logan. He's not the right one for you, but have it your way."
But when she asks him what he means, he just says, "I mean I am."

1. Does Ellis really mean Logan isn't the right Count for Skyla?

2. And if Ellis knows Logan is part Count, is it because he saw his name in the Counts' register book thingie?

Logan Rutherford said...

Maybe that's why Logan had the Count' register book thingie, so Skyla couldn't see that he, and her (Skyla's) family are Caounts...

Bckygnzlz said...

I'm referring to the whole skylas dad had a girlfriend in high school that died unexpectedly. Could that be Skylas biological mother??? At least that's what I think lol!

And I'm with ya on the idea that Logan was too quick to snatch the Count Register book to hide the identities of himself and her family.

MelinaIyonna said...

Addison...I really wish I was a director right now, b/c while reading your series, I could just see it rolling out on film! What a wonderful movie it would make!

James R. Nobohn said...

omg MelinaIyonna read my mind lol!
it's like the story always plays like a film in your mind while reading because the world building and descriptive language are detailed and perfect.

like the scene where Logan is fighting that bear Fem in the woods, it's like you can see it knocking him down and then go after Skyla, who's probably hanging from one of the branches, and then Nevermore swoops in signaling Gage's arrival, and Gage teleports out of the nothingness already in mid-stride and starts fighting it before it can get to her

anyway lol, I guess the point is, do you plan on selling the movie rights to this series?

Addison Moore said...

Logan - yes! The first scene in book 4 is the party. As for
Logan's intentions regarding the book of Counts, I can't really say. Sorry! But you're on a very interesting path. Have a great night!

Addison Moore said...

Amber J. - interesting thoughts on chapter 23! As for film rights, that would be fantastic. There's always a miracle, right? :). And thank you for even thinking it.

Addison Moore said...

Melinalyonna - I am loving you for saying that! I think it would be a blast to see Paragon and all its residents come to life that way. Have a great night!

Addison Moore said...

Bckygnzlz - very perceptive! But was Skyla's mom being factual? The truth comes out in book 4. ;)

Bckygnzlz said...

Oohh the suspence is killing me! LOL

Addison Moore said...

Bckygnzlz - lol! Hang in there. I'm thinking about two weeks before I put out book 4. or less. ;)

Bckygnzlz said...

Marking my calendar.....now. Big ? In 2 weeks lol

Krista B. said...

Ooh! My fingers are crossed for two weeks! I've been trying to find something that captures my interest since I read the first three books and haven't found anything yet - so I am glad I won't be waiting much longer!! I need something to read when my daughters' ballet classes start back up - since we have to stay there, but aren't allowed to watch them practice!! :)

Addison Moore said...

Krista B. - Aww, thanx for the kind words! And I hope you have a great time reading book 4 while waiting for your daughter. My daughter's dance teacher used to do the same thing! lol! I totally remember waiting at the park. Thank you for reading!!!

James R. Nobohn said...

I posted a few days ago during the earthquake here in NY, so I figured it only made sense to pose this question right after the hurricane that just blew thru the city (the impending arrival of Book 4 seems to be causing a lot of upheaval around here lol)

For some reason I read some negative reviews on Amazon about Ethereal. Some of them were kinda rude and completely baseless (I was actually miffed enough to respond to two lol), but it made me wonder if you get upset about stuff like that.

How do you deal with negative reviews? Do you even pay attention to them? Does criticism from readers about a book affect how you approach the next installment in the series?

Heather said...

Amber J. -- I just lol-ed at your post. I too find myself getting irked at negative comments with the authors I enjoy :)

Krista B.- Have you read any M. Leighton? I have all her stuff and she's wicked good. H P Mallory and Teri Rice also have great series. Though I do have to say none of you authors *eyes Addison specifically* write fast enough for my 8-10 books/week addiction. :D.

I have set mutiple event alarms to start checking Amazon for Book 4. I can't wait! And holy cow I can't believe how many comments there are now.

James R. Nobohn said...

Heather -- I was recently introduced to the work of M. Leighton, so that's something else we have in common lol; I'm almost done with her book Madly... and I love it! And the person that put me on to M. Leighton was none other than the talented Addison Moore :)

Addison Moore said...

Amber J. - Criticism, hurt? Gosh no, it just feels like having your stomach split and your guts pulled out and wrapped around your neck as someone attempts to strangle you with them....oh wait, yes, it does hurt. ;)

It's so strange because there aren't a lot of fields in which people can get publicly flogged for their work, but writing happens to be one of them. It's one of those things that you have to accept once you decide to let your paper children go into the world, or e-shelves as my case may be. I really do try to not let it get to me, but in all honesty I'm human so it can and often does. I'm willing to take sharp criticism of my books but when someone takes a hit on me personally (especially if they don't know me) it seems rather unfair. Say all you want about the books because you have the evidence and I do believe everyone is entitled to share their opinion, but the personal attacks seem rather unjust. It's just another one of those things that are out of a writers control.

As far as ETHEREAL goes, it does seem to take a bit more of a hit than the other books, and part of that is because it was a first in a series for me. I do have plans to go back and smooth out the novel, but I seem to be putting it off every chance I get. It will get done and hopefully the effort will show in the reviews. Regardless, I've been showered with love and support from amazing readers such as yourself who I'm happy to call friends.

As for letting criticism guide my writing, I almost always yield to advice, weigh it, consider the source and make a decision on what needs to be done. That's a practice I try to use in all areas of my life.

And yes I highly recommend M. Leighton to everyone. lol. She's a great writer and person!! =)

Addison Moore said...

Heather - LOL! I'm taking a break right now from penning book 5, and you're right, there is no way I can keep up with how fast you guys read! I'm lucky to be in the company of so many great authors out there. I hope you enjoy lots of great books. I hope to give you one to enjoy in the very near future! Book 4 should hit the e-shelves very, very, soon. =)

Test said...

Heather and Amber J- I had to leave a comment with a huge THANK YOU for your mention of me. YAY! I can't tell you how much I appreciate your support and how thrilled I am that you're enjoying my work. I'm grinning from ear to ear:D And Addison? She's awesome! I'm both flattered and humbled to be in company such as hers. It means more than you know. Thanks, y'all! You ROCK!

Addison Moore said...

Amber J. Wow! Thank you so much for commenting to those reviews on Amazon. I just popped over and read them. That was extremely kind of you. I can't tell you how much your support means to me. I hope you have a day free of all natural disasters. And yikes! I hope Chloe's impending arrival on Paragon has nothing to do with them, lol!

Addison Moore said...

M. Leighton - you are welcome here anytime girl! XOXO

Krista B. said...

Thanks for the suggestions, Ladies! I just downloaded my first M Leighton book! :)

Heather said...

Krista B--Oooooo, which did you get? Madly and Caterpiller are my 2 favs

Amber J- Don't stop with madly; the others will get you totally hooked too.

Madame Leighton-you're more than welcome. I love indy authors and maybe you the most since you just said y'all and spelled it correctly; makes this southern girl happy ;)

Addison-if by very very soon you mean you are going to make this the best labor day weekend ever than you're my new bff. And I'm not nearly as freaked by Logan's color after re-reading Ethereal :)

Addison Moore said...

Krista B. - Enjoy! And do share which ones you downloaded.

Heather - LOL I SO wish it was going to be Labor Day weekend. If it is, it will surprise both you and me. ;)

Kayleigh said...

Heather your comment 'And I'm not nearly as freaked by Logan's color after re-reading Ethereal :)' now has me re-reading the entire book in search for what information you've found!!!

The suspense may actually kill me and then I'll be very annoyed as I'll never find out what happens so I'll come back to haunt you (in the nicest possible way and filled with lots of love).

Is there any news on a date? xxx

Addison Moore said...

Kayleigh - No hard date yet. Just received my edits back. I'm still shooting for mid September. *crosses fingers* =)

Heather said...

Kayleigh- it's where his uncle is talking about the blood tests. Classification of angel is based on what percent of blood they have the most of. Doesn't say that Logan is pure, just that he's celestra. Plus, let's be honest, Marshall is SO not above manipulating things to benefit his end game. Hope that bit of logic helps; it did me. :)

Of course, Addison may throw my logic completely out the window. You don't have to confirm or deny, Addison. Just allow me a bit of stress relief. BTW, I can't believe you're already trucking through book 5. Hella cool. You are a beast!

Addison Moore said...

Heather - *smiles* *doesn't say a word*

And yes, book 5 is 30% finished. ;)

Bckygnzlz said...

Oh wow Heather! I never saw it like that! Makes more sense now lol! Thanks

Melanie said...

I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely love your books. Also, when do you think you are going to post the title of book 4?

Addison Moore said...

Bckygnzlz - I can't wait to get book 4 to you! =)

Melanie - I just shored up some cover details, so I'm thinking about posting tomorrow or Friday. I'm hoping to post the next two covers and titles. I'm super excited! I'll be spending all day on edits for book 4 today and hopefully writing a bit in book 5, so my blog post won't be put together till midnight lol! Have a good one! And I'm so psyched about the cover/title reveals, I can't even tell you!!!

Kristinab23 said...

Yay! I have been lurking around here just waiting for som news about the cover and title! I see it will be here soooooooon! (said in a sing song voice lol) I am so excited! About the only thing more exciting would be that the book is available! I did notice you said that should be coming sooner rather than later so I am psyched about that too! I just reread Burn and I noticed that I did forget some things especially in the end. I think you blew my mind with that ending and my brain just wouldn't accept the details! :p I plan to read all of them again when you release 4. So that all facts are newly in mind. I lost my train of thought so I will end this with that. :)

Bckygnzlz said...

I'm also rereading Burn. I'm starting to see things better the second time around. I don't get how Skyla doesn't see how horrible Chloe is. Its no wonder all these horrible things keep happening to her. She's very naïve but I guess lots of 16 year olds are. Wow. Love this series!

James R. Nobohn said...

I was trying to avoid asking anymore questions until after we see what transpires in Book 4, but when you all start talking about the Big 3 (Gage, Logan, or Marshall), I can't resist lol

1. Heather, I agree with you that it's probably about the ratio of Celestra:Count blood flowing through Logan's veins. I also think that's why he avoided taking part in the killing spree with Gage and Skyla, and just lied and said he left his phone in the car. And what does that say about Gage, for keeping a secret like that from Skyla -- obviously his loyalty is to Logan first (and rightfully so, I don't like that Skyla is breaking their bond). Dr. Oliver said Logan's parents produced a "near pure Celestra" so maybe Logan is like 25% Count OR (drumroll)...the baby he's talking about isn't Logan. Addison is so good at adding twists, I think anything is possible, right?

2. Something about Marshall confuses me. Before Skyla finds out in the end that Brielle, not Michelle, is Marshall's future baby mama lol, she asks him about Michelle: “Will the child she’s carrying have dominion?” Marshall responds: “No. Any other child of mine is a useless human spawn.” Does he mean "any other" child he has with someone other than Skyla will be useless? Or will he and Brielle's baby also be as powerful as Skyla-Marshall offspring would be?

3. Would you ever consider tweeting a sentence or line of dialogue from Book 4 as a teaser lol?

This post is ridiculously long for no good reason...sorry :(

Gabbie said...

Addison your books are fabulous! Just like everyone else I also can not wait for the fourth book to be released. I hope editing, as well as figuring out the cover, goes smoothly for you. Do you have a title for the fourth book yet? I only ask so that I can officially add it to my list of books I need to purchase and read. Thanks :)
Gabbie

Addison Moore said...

Kristinab23 - I'm actually going to post the covers and titles on Friday (Thursday Midnight) I'm at the mercy of my cover artist a.k.a husband who thinks they still need some tweaking and insists I refer to them as working covers in the event he changes some unnoticeable hue. ;) And I'm SO glad you enjoyed the ending to BURN! I had a blast writing it.

Addison Moore said...

Bckygnzlz - I know exactly what you're talking about regarding Skyla's feeling towards Chloe. I think somewhere in the middle of BURN she was still holding out hope Chloe would go for Marshall one day. Also as an author it's hard to surprise Skyla without foreshadowing and letting the reader in on some tidbits. I'm working real hard to find that perfect balance. I'm learning so much with the Celestra series and even though I've been writing seemingly forever, this series is the biggest learning experience of my writerly career! It's a blast to write. ;) Be sure to come back on Friday for the cover/title reveal!

Addison Moore said...

Amber J. - Spoiler city if I answer your questions, but I will say in regards to questions #2 Skyla is *special*.

As for question #3 I want to post way more than a sentence for you. I think I'll post the entire preface to book 4. =)

I hope you'll stop by Friday for cover/title/preface(?) reveals!

Addison Moore said...

Gabbie - Hi! I'm working on the post tomorrow and I'll have it up on Friday. I'm most likely going to put up both cover and title for books 4 and 5 since I'm quicker to produce a book than a blog post. ;) See you then!

Bckygnzlz said...

Super Excited! I love these books and I think it has so much to do with how you interact with your fans. I've never experienced such an open and giving author like you. I love that we can ask questions and state opinions and you immediately almost answer ;) and reply to us! I can't wait to check back tomorrow and see the "working" cover and title to book 4! I'm on pins and needles! Thanks for being you!

Addison Moore said...

Bckygnzlz - It's Friday! Yikes! Cover reveal on Friday! I'd hate to disappoint you tomorrow, lol! And I looove talking to readers, so stop by often! =) Have a good one.

Cheri22 said...

Well, figured I would check for an update.. after all tomorrow is September 1st and you did say september!! (I am just teasing you, but I am excited that you are nearly ready to publish!) Good luck!

James R. Nobohn said...

Well, technically it's already Thursday here on the East Coast lol, so maybe that's what Bckygnzlz meant.

And I totally agree, your willingness to interact with your fans/readers is appreciated more than you'll ever know.

We're between a rock and a hard place: we know, without a shadow of a doubt, that this series belongs on a bookshelf in every B&N, Walmart, Target, you name it and in the Top 100 on Amazon; but we also know once you achieve that level of success, this type of accessibility will have to fade away :(

But for now we're just counting down to the big reveal tomorrow/Friday lol. Can't wait! :)

Addison Moore said...

Cheri22 - LOL! Yes, that teaches me to say September. ;) Soon though.

Addison Moore said...

Amber J. - You're so right about her Thursday, lol! My brain is fried.

I have to say that your sweet--soooo super kind sentiments about my books made me tear up. I can't thank you enough for thinking so highly of my stories. I'm truly humbled.

I'll always try my best to answer everyone. =)

Amy said...

Hello everyone! I guess it's time for me to quit "lurking" and comment here :). Originally, I linked to Addison's blog dying for more info, spoilers, and dates on upcoming books. I have to say that I am so impressed with the threads of conversation here and Addison's overwhelming excitement to communicate with her loyal readers!

Addison - Honestly, I feel like anything that I could say would just be a repeat of all the positive and glowing remarks made by all of your other fans! WOW, WOW, WOW - I love this series :). I often find myself thinking about the characters while tackling the other mundane chores of life, excited to get back to reading more. You have an amazing way with words and creating images so clearly in my mind. I find that don't want to start any other books until the next one comes out to leave everything fresh and have read them all twice and skimmed the first book a third time (to follow-up on Heather's comments above). Needless to say, I am hooked and have been spreading the word.... I am very anxious for the next book and keep churning ideas and theories during the wait!

@Heather (& Amber J) - Girl! I had to go back and look over a few things after reading your comments - LOL. I immediately thought of the blood percentages conversation and was trying to sort out if he could be part Count. Also, there are a few other things that made me raise my eyebrows: the he reiterated skills can be learned, he wasn't as scared/effected by the kitchen fire, the line about most things being a facade, and how exhausted he is the next day after dream sharing (makes me that he has pushed learning more Celestral skills to blend in). These are things from several books.

I got the impression all along that Skyla's family was not the same as her and she always had dark vides from Taddy dearest! Looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts and cannot wait for the next book :)

Oh, I am not necessary either Team Logan vs. Gage (or Marshall); however, I love them all in their own ways. I was thinking, since Skyla is *special* that maybe she has the keys to bring peace amongst the factions, like if she and Logan end up together it would make a perfect blend, as Marshall implies would happen between them? I don't know, just thinking out of the box.

Cheers! Have a awesome weekend!

Shannon said...

Is it Friday yet?!! LOL

Addison Moore said...

Amy - You are made of awesome! Thank you so much for your nice words and the fact that you are spreading the word makes my heart sing!!! HUGE~ thank you for that! I so appreciate it! And, by the way, I like your outside of the box thinking. ;)

Addison Moore said...

Shannon - Why yes, yes, it is! ;) Enjoy! Have a great one!

Heather said...

@ Amy-those are some great theories!
@ Amber J- I think Logan is the right "kid". I just re-read Burn (again) and noticed Marshall's gleeful comment to Sklya about Logan not knowing that MArshall knows he's (L) a Celestra. It's right after the throat slashing incident.

Addison, the new covers are gorgeous as usual. I don't know what else you'd do to the Vex cover but it's great.

Addison Moore said...

Heather - Thanx for the cover luv! And I SO love reading everyones thoughts! Too fun!

KHocutt said...

This series is awesome! I just finished BURN and I am so excited to see book 4 hit Amazon! The character's are so vivid and well written. I cannot decide if I even want to believe that Logan can be an enemy of Skyla's, guess I'll have to wait and see! Thank you so much Addison for opening up this world for your readers!

Addison Moore said...

Hi KHocutt ! I'm thrilled that you're enjoying the series! As soon as WICKED comes out I'll do a huge post and alert everyone. Thank you so much for your kind words in regards to my writing! I think book 4 opens us up even more to Logan's intentions and then, of course, there's book 5 which explores the concept further. ;)
