Calling all Indies!

I really want to celebrate the Indie community, so I'm opening up my blog to all Indie authors who want to introduce themselves and give a shout out to their book or books. Feel free to leave links to your books or whatever other links and info you feel comfortable sharing. =)

I look forward to playing hostess! *passes the M&M's*

Here are some general questions, but add anything you like;

What's your name? What genre do you write in? Titles of your books? Any links you want to share? What's your favorite go-to snack while writing? (of course for me it's chocolate).

Wow. Saw this in my GRs feed. How could I not introduce myself?

I'm Sharde Richardson, cheese enthusiast and YA writer. My debut novel Watched is out now in the usual places. My go-to snack is Mozzarella, preferably chilled. But in some cases room temp, provided crackers are available.

Thanks Addison.

My favorite snack while writing is chips... :)

Love your covers, Addison. :)

I wish I could come up with great ideas like this on my blog! Maybe I need a new ghost-typer or something... Either way, I'm Sean Thomas Fisher, author of Cold Faith and Zombies, First Zombie, and Second Zombie. I will be releasing a horror novella, Cold Summer Nights, within the next two weeks, and unfortunately it doesn't have any zombies in it. I know... What was I thinking, right? It's doomed.

Thanks for the platform Addison!

Hi y'all!

If you're wondering if I actually talk like that, sadly, my answer is yes. I can't hide it. I'm a southerner:) Besides, I had to put up something different since I'm way down on the list. I just saw this post and "ran" right over. Apparently I'll be a late bloomer forever:) Boo!

My name is Michelle Leighton. I write YA pararnormal romances as M. Leighton and you can find out more about me and my books at http://mleightonbooks.blogspot.com. I hope you'll come by for a visit and take a chance on one of my books. They're for sale at only $.99 at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords and Apple.

Thanks for opening this up to everyone, Addison. Very cool:) And I love your background BTW. Goes with your series perfectly!

Wren! So glad you stopped by! Every time I see that girl on the cover of your book I assume that's you! I know it's a strange thought. Thank you for sharing your book with us!

Claudia - I am totally interested in learning more about speculative fiction! I cannot wait to check out your novella!

Michelle - You're not late at all! I'm loving getting to know all of the indie writers better and you're definitely one of them. You have a ton of books out and I'm really interested in how you do it. You're an inspiration to us all.

This is going to sound bad, but I generally forget to eat when I’m writing! I do drink a lot of tea, though, and I tend to reward myself with chocolate when I’ve had a productive day :)

A little over a month ago I published “After Eden,” a ya paranormal romance. It’s the first book in a series about fallen angels, and you can pick it up for 99cents on Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004WX1BNG), B&N, and Smashwords.

Thank you for opening up your blog like this, Addison!

Addison Moore said...

Katherine - I happen to be partial to angels myself. ;) And you're welcome! After Eden sounds great!

T.R. Graves - Mountain Dew has been responsible for getting me through more #amwriting sessions than I'm comfortable admitting. And that is awesome that your book is free for a limited time! *FREE* is one of my favorite words!!! Good luck on the editing. That's one part of the writing process that never seems to end for me.

Hi everyone! I'm Nicole Williams and I wrote Eternal Eden, which was released at the end of March. The sequel, Fallen Eden, is set to be released in the next six weeks (if I hold strong to my four hours of sleep a night schedule!).

I'm a peanut butter nut as well! Smeared on bread, crackers, brownies, or straight off the spoon!

Loving all the indie love out there. I've had the privilege of interacting with several of you ladies, and have been so impressed with your support, kind words, and, not to mention, your crazy-good books!

My blog is nicoleawilliams.blogspot.com and you can find me on twitter at nwilliamsbooks. Thanks Addison!

Addison Moore said...

J.A - Welcome! It's nice to know you! I'm going to check out your work. I like the sound of your titles and the fact you include preteens in your audience.

Nicole - Hi! Did you have a great unplugged weekend? My husband has tried to trick me into those before. ;) Just teasing. Those are my favorite kinds of vacations. Glad to se you here!

Kristal - I think for a lot of writers go the self publishing route in addition to seeking representation. So no need to abandon any dream. It's such a great time to be a writer! Nice to have you here!

Alivia said...

First off, let me say hi for the first time! I came across your book, Ethereal through a twitter link, and just had to read more since no one I've ever known knows what the word even means!

My name is Alivia, and I've been writing YA stories ever since I started writing. I'm currently working on my first book, titled Illumine, but until that's wrapped up and done I've taken to blogging! My writing typically sticks to YA fantasy and paranormal, but I have written small pieces of YA romance before. Also, I find microwave burritos and tomato-basil soup really, really, REALLY delicious. And Pocky. Lots of Pocky.

My blog is http://aliviaanders.blogspot.com if you have a second to see it, or really make me beam with pride and follow it. All I can say is thank you for letting me comment like this- it may be a small gesture but it's so powerful to other small bloggers, self-publishers, and future self-publishers like myself.

Autumn said...

Addison, what a great idea! Indies need to stick together, and what better way than to pay it forward in threads like the one you've created.

Hey everyone, my name is Autumn Dickinson. I currently have an adult romantic suspense out, Painted in a Corner, available on all the usual sites for $0.99.

I am a die hard paranormal junkie with a passion for vampires, so with that being said, I'm currently working on a YA paranormal series. My goal is to have book one out early to mid 2012.

I made a list of some of the indies here that I haven't seen before and look forward to reading their work!
Feel free to check out my blog for more info. http://www.autumndickinson.blogspot.com

Thanks for giving us this opportunity, Addison!

Addison Moore said...

I write older YA. My book is Founder, and based on the true story of a white supremacist colony hidden in the Amazon jungle. My website is www.lmlong.com
Okay, I love a really trashy snack called combos. They're little pizza flavored bites of deliciousness that my husband says remind him of dog treats. I usually Follow this by gallons of cherry flavored coke zero. Really I should have a vein inserted, I drink so much of the stuff.

After Reading Avila's post I got the courage to join the "big-leagues" and decided to post as well. Like Michelle, I'm from the south. Y'all is just normal to me.

I don't write by my actual name but for ONE time I'll actually write my name: Raschel Underbrink, but my pen name is TK Knox. I write YA Paranormal Fiction, and lots of it....I have a total of 25 books outlined, and three that are currently being spewed onto the pages of my notebook during my Intro to Lit. classes...either that or onto my blog which I am calling a "Living Book" I believe that books are alive through the people who read them, and thus, have started a posting chapters each week of one of my book series. I ask for edits and critique and if things go well I'll probably self-publish it. As for snacks....well I love me some Welches Fruit Snacks and a hot cup of Earl Grey Tea, and when its cold outside I like to cuddle up on my patio with my notebook and a good blanket with an extra large cup of hot-coco while I write...its the BEST!

The Series names are:
Evolution Series
Dragon's Venom Trilogy
Lycoan Series
Ancestry of the Dearly Departed Saga
Dandelion Faelds Saga

My links and Email: Tk-knox(dot)blogspot(dot)com
Tk-knox(dot)webs(dot)com
T.K_Knox(at)yahoo(dot)com

I know...loads on my plate and so little time to actually sit down and write it all! Especially with a 5 month old son who demands you take your attention OFF the notebook/computer and ONto him.
